Strip 10: And It Gets Even Worse

The green beast we're riding on is a dwarf lizard steed. They inhabit deep caves and dirty basements.

And, since I had just one pair of short legs when I made this, and they were on the dwarf king, this dwarf has double cylinders for legs.

Lego Store

Well, it was the Grand Opening today. And let me tell you...

IT WAS AWESOME!

The day started when we got to the Galleria at about 8:40. Instead of waiting 20 minutes in front of Sears, we navigated to a mall door that let us in. We walked over to the store, where there was just a few people. Normally we would have waited till 10:00 to enter the store, but they opened early. Once we entered into the store, I ran to the City section and grabbed
this.

It's "Camper," "Tow Truck," and "Sports Car."

I also ended up getting, as an extra,

this.

It's a Lego Vulcan Statue and an exclusive Master Builder Event Brick.

I also picked up a September event calendar, a Lego Club and Lego Club Jr. September Magazine, a fresh Lego Catalog, and a certificate for helping a master builder build an 8-foot tall statue of R2-D2 by making bricks 4 times the normal size.

An extremely good day, and all for about $44.00!

A Guessing Game

I'm planning on buying three sets at the grand opening. Let's see if you can guess the sets if I give you some clues:

1. The sets cost $16.99, $12.99, and $9.99.

2. The sets are from the City line.

3. Two of the sets have the same character; he's just dressed differently.

4. One set includes a winch, one includes a fish, and one includes a telephone.

Maybe you can figure them out from this.

I'll put a Grand Opening post, and then you'll get to see the sets.

Strip 9: The Fight With Death (But It's Not Much of a Fight)

Guess K.O.ing him isn't so impossible, after all.

And in case you forgot, this week is the Lego Store grand opening! YAHOO!

8/21/2009

Um... Er.... How Do I Put This....

I'm sorry to say this...

But you may not get next week's strip on time!

Horror of horrors!

You see, my free trial ended...

And I didn't have the strip made...

So you get the picture.

Sorry.

My Other Steampunk Set

This is my Light Steampunk Cruiser that I mentioned before. I'll show you some of its details:
Here you will notice the double steam tanks for power and the boarding ladder.

Here you can see the comfy leather chair and control panel.
Also included are a pilot's helmet and a steam-powered jetpack. Yes, the grey piece does attach. It's LDD's fault that I can't do it here, but I promise that I tested it.

Well, that's it. I hope you enjoyed this set.

P.S. The Heavy Steampunk Cruiser is available to buy now here, and this set will be too, soon.

Strip 8: Never Trust an Elf

Sorry that I forgot to put up a post yesterday. I was kind of busy (as in wasting my time looking at LDD models by other people.)

Yes, yes, I realize that Death (as in the skeleton in the hood and cloak) doesn't exist. But this is fiction, people. F-I-C-T-I-O-N. Simple as that.

What a handy piece that giant skull is. I'm glad I have it.

There's a New Poll Up Now

Well, I finally got around to putting up a new poll.

I also got around to adding a weapons bunker in the Cat Defense Agency basement.

Wait.... Did I say "Cat Defense Agency" out loud?

I did?

Rats.

Well, anyway, you should probably get around to voting now. Goodbye.

Go on, shoo!

Would you PLEASE stop hanging around instead of voting on the poll?!?!

Thank you.

Oh Yeah!!

Did you know that a Lego store opened in Alabama?

Oh yeah, you did. I told you that before.

But did you know that the Grand Opening is coming soon? In only, let me see...

*goes over to check calendar*

Ah yes. Only 17 days!

And at that Grand Opening, I will have a chance to get a Lego model of Vulcan!

No, really! I also could get an exclusive R2-D2 Duplo brick and..........

*drumroll*

...Help a Lego Master Builder make an 8-foot tall model of R2-d2!

What could be better?

OK, I guess an all-day shopping spree added to that would be nice, but let's be real.

Strip 7: Why Did I HAVE To Give Him Free Will?!

Phooey. I hate it when this happens.

You note that I don't have an ordinary eraser. I have a broom.

If you have a pink 1x1 plate that you could send me, I'll change the strip. Don't worry, I'll send your plate back to you.

A Short Review

This little set is known by the name of "Soldier's Arsenal." Very fitting.

This set's only minifigure is a small British (I assume) soldier. I found the hat and pauldron pieces to be nice parts. The double-sided torso printing was also very nice.

The other part of the set was an nice weapons rack, which includes a cutlass, a pistol, a musket, and a brown backpack. I liked the compact design, as well as the dark-blue 1x4 plates.

All together, this is a pretty nice set. However, it is best bought in conjunction with another Pirate set, such as Pirate Survival. This set is also good to fill up the tower in the Soldier's Fort set.

I Did It

I did it. I really did it.

I finally got around to sorting my Lego bricks by color! (Excepting, however, the groups of Minifigs, Accessories, Printed Bricks, and Tires.)

I should have done it years ago!

Strip 6: In Which I Kill Off a Major Character

Careful, this strip is rather violent. Don't look unless you're over the age of 5. We usually try to stay G-PG, but this strip is a PG-13.

As you can see, my strip characters don't always go by the script.

I wonder if Steve is gone for good?

Or will I design some convoluted way that just so happens to give Steve a chance to be alive again?

No one knows. Not even me. Seriously. I don't know what will happen in my own strip.

A Character

This is a superhero named Distortion. He can change matter.....
To an x-ray form......

To a thermal camera-ish form.....
To a glowing form....
Or he can just suck out all the color.

He can also do other things, but I was just giving you an example.
